What a Google Review QR should open
It should open your public Google review write URL (the “Write a review” link from Google Business Profile), not a generic search for your brand name. A search still makes people pick between similarly named shops. The write-review link is unique to your location.
On this generator you also set the business name and optional messages. The review tab can route very unhappy ratings to private feedback first so a one-star rant is not the only path. That is a product choice: public Maps for genuine praise, a quieter form when someone is angry at the table.
Where to put the code so reviews actually happen
Billing counter, after the bill is paid, while they still have the phone in hand. Table tents in cafes with Scan to review us on Google. Parcel stickers for cloud kitchens. Clinic discharge summaries. Hotel pillows are too late; the front-desk card as they check out is on time.
Ask when the experience was good. Do not tape a review QR over a complaint. Staff can still say, “If you had a good time, this code opens Google in ten seconds.”
How to copy the correct Google review link
Open Google Business Profile, find the option to get a review link, or search your business on Maps, open the listing, and use the share / review entry that points at your place ID. Test the link in incognito on a phone. You should see your business name and a star widget, not a list of competitors.
Reviews, filtering, and what Google still decides
Google may not show every review. QR codes do not bypass Maps policies. Fake-review schemes will hurt you. What the QR does is remove the friction for real customers who already wanted to rate you and then opened Instagram instead.
